I'm Intending to Setup a New Fish Tank. Which Community Tank Do You Think Is Betta and Why?

Question

I have a tank. 10 Gallons.

However, I am still considering what kind of fish should I have!

Either I get,

1 Male Betta with Several Neon Tetras. With many many nice silk pants....

or

Several guppies with maybe a few other peaceful shoaling fish..

or

Do you have any suggestions? Feel free to share with me!!

Any form of answers, will be appreciated!

I would suggest about 6 guppies with a school of zebra danios and some corys. If you get guppies it would be better to get all males. Males are prettier and if you get a female they'll breed like crazy.

a school of Neons about 6 and the male betta. That would be good. The betta will do fine with the Neons.

I had a 29 gallon tank with a ton of beautiful fancy guppies, which was great and fun. But not nearly as fun as having my new cichlids!!! Cichlids are truly amazing fish I know they are expencive but they are really worth it. I have now like 7 cichlids that are so cool and pretty. In your 10 gallon tank you could fit about 3-4 cichlids depending on what kind. They grow pretty big and change colors through out there life. I hope this helps.

Hi,

In all the years that i have been keeping fish then if you are a novice then start out with the guppies etc. But if you want neons then they can be housed in a tank with guppies. But if you want colourful fish in the tank then go for platties, swordtails etc there are loads and loads of different variaties and so it will give you plenty of choice.

A very colorful and interesting tank would be your first choice. I don't really like guppies all that much because they breed like crazy and they don't really all that often eat as much of there young as other livebearers. You could also look into having platys in your first set up. They have such huge personalities and are also very colorful.
