I'm Planning a Pirate Sweet Sixteen and I Need Help With What To Do- I Already Have Some Ideas?

It's going to be a dance in a big building with a dj and all. It will be in December and since it's a Sweet Sixteen- there will be no treasure hunts. For the invites I'm just going to type up one in pirate language. Everyone has to dress up or they will walk the plank. But IDK what to have for food and decorations. Also, if I'm missing anything important- PLEASE let me know!

  1. ~Fish 'n' Chips

~Variety of seafood appetizers or tapas like deep fried squid, prawns in seafood sauce on a pastry with sprinkled seaweed, smoked salmon etc...

  2. decoration:

not too sure on what your budget is but here are a few ideas and you can work them in to what fits best. have a plank, maybe some sand, island, palm trees, waters and sharks, lil telescope (parting gift) ....incorporate colors like red, black, blue and green.

    food:

chicken or seafood would work the best. some toasted bread with garlic - aka garlic bread. a non alcoholic (or run depending on what you can get away with)  fruity cocktail

  3. Your best bet for food would be to get those six foot long sub sandwiches, or pizzas.....you could also have chips and pretzels around; don't go crazy with the food.....Have trays of brownies or chocolate chip cookies for desert and you're good to go...See if you can get big skull and crossbone pirate flags from your local party store....hang them from the ceiling on the walls; Another nice touch if its in the budget would be to get little "booty" bags and fill with gold chocolate coins...Also at those party stores they have little plastic treasure chests and other pirate decos that you might enjoy using....It would be an idea to dress up a mannequin (like on Halloween) of a life size pirate to stick in a corner....Have fun!
