Okay first off, my biggest question would be, what time of the year is best to go out there, like weather and money wise.

Second, whats a good resort that has a lot of amenities, i'm thinking of spending like $2,500 to $3,000.

Any basically... well this is my first trip to mexico and any adivce would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Kansas City,MO. If anyone knows a good travel agency or good deals, please dont be scared to email me! This trip is going to be my late 3 year anniversary trip, so my spending money is flexible due to such a special occasion... so any tips at all will help, even anything just about the cancun area!

Thanks to everyone ahead of time for healping!

  1. we went the  second week of dec. and the temp was about 70 to 75. ocean water was a little cool not bad, pool water was freezing!!!  we stayed at the moon palace  all inclusive!  it was great!  don't know if you have a costco there but we booked ours thru them and it was about $1000.00  per person with travel insurance-a must! and we had airline miles thru AA.

the resort areas are great , the downtown area not so the people were really nice.  american $$$$  will do it every time! amek sure if you want to buy anything don't pay the price they have on it! deal ,deal ,deal!

if they want you to do a tour, beware, high pressure,  they don't like to take no for an answer you have to be really stern!

also customs is a pain in the butt!  it took us 2 hr to go thru with only 15 minutes left to board the plane coming home but going in to mexico was a breeze!

hope you enjoy yourself     feel free to email me beachsisterjc@yahoo.com

  2. In my opinion the best time to go is in April, just after whenever Easter Sunday is, that's the best money and temperature wise. As for the resort choice, you should decide if you want to stay at an All-Inclusive where the meals and drinks are included in the final price or if you want to stay at a European Plan resort where you pay for the room only. The advantage to AI is that you don't have to consider as much when it comes to money. The downside is that the EP resorts are usually better, and there are hundreds of Cancun restaurants in the Hotel Zone and Downtown, so you won't go hungry. I prefer to eat out, but after all is said and done, it means a different way of budgeting dinero. You can choose a resort that offers both, like the Gran Melia. You can decide on the morning of any given day that you want the AI, go down to the front desk and pay for it, it's that simple. I also think you should let us know how long you plan to go for, because a budget is only good when you say how long you will spend in Cancun. Otherwise, here are a few resorts to consider:

Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach-also check out the sister resorts Aqua and Fiesta Americana Condesa

    Riu Palace Las Americas-AI

The Royal in Cancun-adults only AI

Le Blanc Spa Resort-adults only AI

    ME By Melia-boutique style resort

    Ritz Carlton

    Golden Parnassus-adults only AI

    Le Meridien-smaller resort

    GR Solaris

    Hilton Golf & Spa Resort

Have fun planning your vacation in paradise,
