Question:

I'm SO Sore..Help?

Okay, Soo, I've been stretching alot, for Cheerleading and I'm really REALLY very sore, I mean..everywhere hurts..is it okay for me to stretch some more even though I'm in THIS condition? Or should I just wait 'till the soreness wears off? Thanks!

  2. Hey!  I have been in the same position with ballet. Yes, it's okay to stretch even when you're sore, but just don't push things past their limits.  As in, stretch, but if you're really sore, and there is a point where it feels like your bones will snap in half, don't go that far!

    The more you stretch, the more your body will become accustomed to the flexibility.  It might take some time before that happens, but it will!

  3. don't forget to drink plenty of water and gatorade, that is what my cross country coach has always told us to get rid of soreness. also stretch and don't overwork your muscles.

  4. Massage your muscles or get someone to do it for you, and by all means keep working out. The soreness will soon subside.

  5. Consider a massage. Ice very sore parts. Take it easy! If something is painful to do, dont do it, so take it light on the stretching. Your muscles aren't used to the new ork you have been doing. They will learn to adjust, you should feel better soon!
