I'm Scared to move!?

Question

My family might be moving across town.

I am SO scared I have been in my house for 13 yrs!

PLEASE HELP!

Give me tips on packing, easing the pain of the move etc.

its across town. Moving has been fun for me, i love the possibilities of a new house, and decorating my new room, and having new neighbors. You'll still go to school with your friends..

for packing, bring one room over at a time

because if you mark boxes you have to sort boxes.

just chill, i just got done with a big move,

ive moved my entire life...

&& since your just going across town-i think youll be fine.

i know itll be hard, but havin fun with your friends, have your besties come over && helping you pack everything is so much fun && it eases the pain of doin it yourself && thinkin about how bad you think its gunna be.

&& if you have a hobby-stick with it.

itll help you not think about it all && i mean, im not tellin you to ignore the fact that your moving...

but just dont stress.

there are things like the phone && email && im sure soon or if not now-you can go see your friends in the other town.

im sure youll end up loving where your going, it might take awhile.

but please please DONT dwell in your past town...

it wont help you live for now && youll be miserable for a long time...

so just chill && im sure youll be fine.

Moving is a big change, and you have every right to be nervous and upset.  But moving doesn't have to be a bad thing - it's just a different thing.

Tell your parents that you are having trouble adjusting to this move, and ask for some counseling.  Go to the library or bookstore and ask for some books appropriate for your age that deal with moving.

Look at it this way - you're not leaving behind everything you love.  You're taking a lot of it with you - if not physically, then at least emotionally.  You can love your old house and love your new house, your old school and new school, your old friends and new friends.  The only difference is you will be living in the new and visiting the old.
