  1. If you have lived in Venezuela all your life, then your son isn't a US citizen. However if you are a resident of Venezuela, you could probably file an immigrant petition for him directly at the embassy there. If you do, and he's under 18, he would be eligible for US citizenship when he enters the US. Or as suggested you could go to the US and file there, but that would likely take a year or more to process. If you can file in Caracas, it would be processed much faster.,

  2. No.  You must have lived in the USA for at least 5 years and 2 of those 5 must have been after the age of 14.

  3. if you were a u.s.citizen at the time of your sons birth he is to be considered a u.s. citizen

  4. i don't think you meet the U.S. residence requirements to transmit your citizenship to your son. Children born overseas aren't automatic U.S citizens at birth (US law)

For children born on or after November 14, 1986, the U.S. citizen parent must have lived in the United States or an outlying possession for five years, of which two years had to be after the age of 14, prior to the birth of the child.

  5. As others have said, probably not.  You will need to move back to the US and apply for a green card for him.  After a period, he can get citizenship.  However, you need to talk to a lawyer because your circumstances are not straightforward.  But I do think that it will entail you living in the US for a period of several years.

  6. You have to file the appropriate paperwork.
