  1. IQ tests are age adjusted so theoretically your score shouldn't change with age.

In reality some folks scores will go up, and some down.

In any case 131 is quite high. Not genius but very clever.

  2. The scores for different IQ tests will have different meanings depending upon the test and your country. It is probably better to find out where you rate on the percentile scale for the test you took. No matter which test you took, however, a score of 131 is very good.

If your high school has a program for gifted students, it is likely that you will be asked to join that program. The school may also recommend that you take advance placement courses (if you are in the US or Canada), etc.

To give you an idea of what your 131 IQ score means: Mensa International, a high-IQ society, is for people who are in the top 2% or higher on a standardized, supervised intelligence test.. A score of 132 on the Stanford-Binet IQ test would qualify you for Mensa, while you would need a score of 148 for the Cattell test.

  3. Wow, you really have to rub it in don't you. Just kidding, that's a GREAT IQ score.

  4. A good score in an IQ test proves you are good at IQ tests. The score doesn't really prove anything, and it is even less meaningful if you dthe same test more than once.

  5. Surely with an IQ of 131 you can work that out :P

Being serious, it really depends what test you took. If it was an online test then it probably wasn't accurate (ones on TV are the same). To get an accurate result for your IQ you need to sit an official test with an organisation like MENSA.

However; if we assume that the test you did was accurate then an IQ of 131 is something you should be pleased about (as hinted at in the top line). All tests should ask you your age, and they should then work out how your answers compare to a random selection of other people your age. The average of these results is IQ 100. Anything above IQ 100 and you are above average. Above 130 signifies that you are potentially someone of gifted intelligence, however; membership in an organisation for really smart people like MENSA requires and IQ of greater than 138 (or other values depending on which version of the test you do).

If you really care, it may be worth contacting MENSA to find out where your nearest testing center is.

  6. That's good! But if you got it from an online IQ test, you probably don't have that IQ. Because if you did, you'd be smart enough to know how inaccurate IQ tests are. If the test was legit, then congratulations!

  7. i'm 14 and i know thats really great for out age

  8. really good.

  9. It depends on what IQ test you took. Normally, people don't have an IQ test taken after they are young children, unless they are being evaluated for something like mental retardation, etc. Did you take one of those free online IQ tests? They aren't very reliable. IQ tests are given to children because they want to evaluate your capabilities, not what you learn in school.

  10. It's a very good score indeed and you are considered gifted.

    Congratulations!

  11. You're not a genius, but possibly gifted.

  12. THAT'S GREAT, not horrible at all the average IQ for a living person is 100 so your fine.

  13. I can't think of a time that I've posted an answer after someone else has already posted one that I can't better.

It's just that I wanted to agree so much with  Mortalmatt.

I've seen this question so many times it's getting boring, most on-line tests are absolute rubbish, as are magazine ones, and as for the advert "George Bush's IQ is 125, can you beat that?" just out and out scams.

I took my MENSA test in about 1962, and from memory it contained about 200 questions and had a time limit of about 2 1/2 hours, anything else is a complete sham, mine was 145 and was invited to take the supervised test at a centre, unfortunately I was a poor student at the time and couldn't afford it, apart from the nearest test centre being a hundred miles away.

So if anyone seriously wants to know their IQ is, and not just for a bit of ego massaging, take the MENSA test!
