i think the longst you can work is eight hours in a day in the uk anyway

Legally, 4 hours a day under the age of 18. And i think its 20-25 hours a week. Because in the law, you cant work over hours. For school & age reasons

Do you have a working permit for a minor?  Your hours would depend on your libraries' policy.  Call the HR person who hired you.
