I am a 15 year old aspiring actor and I am trying to follow my dreams to be on Disney Channel, but my parents are illegal immigrants from Mexico. I was born in California, and I don't know what to do because it's not my fault, I'm trying to follow my dreams, and I don't know if my parents' situation will affect my acting. Will it stop me from following my dreams? What can I do to be able to get an acting gig?

  1. Wait till your 18 but seek jobs that follow your acting career. You although are Legal, will be free from any parenting issues that deal with your career once you hit 18 at the age your parental status can remain private i believe.

  2. - You are asking a difficult question. If you were born in California, then you are a citizen of the United States. If you were 18, this would not be an issue.

    - I doubt that if you have a job at a McDonalds that it would expose your parents to the possibility of deportation, but I don't know what a high profile job like appearing on TV would expose them further.

    - I don't know if you could get some ideas from Cesar Millan's book. He is the most famous actor that I know who was formerly an illegal immigrant.

  3. Since you were born in the US you are legally a citizen. I'm not sure about now, because a lot of the time you will need parental consent but once you turn 18 you should be unhindered by your parents' status.

    Good luck.

  4. you're an american citizen as far as i'm concerned.  try looking for auditions here: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)
