  1. Someone whom i forgot who. probally my father. told me i was never too old to live the life i wanted. go for it :)

  2. 30 is not old...trust me.

  3. Nah dude, get the apprenticeship, if its better for you in the long run then go for it :D you're never too old to persue the good things in life. If you do get the apprenticeship up and running then i wish you luck mate :)

  4. OH PLEEEEASE, 30 IS ''NOT'' OLD. I JUST DECIDED TO GO TO COLLEGE FOR MY B.A. , AND I'M 26.    I WONT BE ABLE TO EVEN ENJOY MY DEGREE UNTIL I'M 30, SO RELAX THERE BUDDY.

REMEMBER, 30 IS THE NEW 20......AND NOT TO MENTION,

I '''QUIT''' MY JOB OF 6 YEARS TO GO TO COLLEGE FULL-TIME..

SO DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO MAN, AND GOOD LUCK.

  5. Wish i can say it loud enough....

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO FOLLOW YOUR WISHES AND DESIRES.

Goodluck dear. I am sure you are going to make it - just believe in your self and follow your aspirations. tc

  6. Downside of working as an apprentice alongside people 10 years your junior. You get called "Dad."

Upside of working as an apprentice alongside people 10 years your junior. You bring to your job experience in the workplace. Steady habits. Promptness. No slacking or goofing off. Eagerness and energy. Ready to work overtime, odd hours. Handle crises and emergencies coolly. Attention and focus. Pride in your work. Ability to laugh off fancied insults or stupid remarks. Ability to "read" fellow workers and bosses. Craftmanship. Attentionl to detail. Fire in your belly. Ambition.

  7. The nice thing about apprenticeships is that you earn while you learn.

My brother went through a tool and die apprenticeship when he got out of high school and ended up doing more than just tool and die, including programming machines that his company bought without programming and also purchasing.  He bought the home we grew up in when our dad was transferred, made some good investments, and retired at the ripe old age of 32 (22 years ago).

Not that you are necessarily going to be able to retire in 14 years.  But you still have plenty of time to put a good nest egg together.

  8. If you go out with that attitude you'll never get an apprenticeship. There are retired 60-year-olds that start a new career with apprenticeships.

  9. 30 isn't old...and its never to late in you life to actually do something you want to do. do what you think is best for you.

  10. I think you need an Ego- Booster, so What if you are 30!
