I want to try it out and see where it goes, but I notice that most Male Tennis players are giants at 6'0 or sometimes over(And most start a lot younger then me too.)

  1. I dont think it really matters. I myself am around 5'10'' or 11'' and am 1st singles for my high school varsity team. Don't think it really gives you much of an advantage.

  2. Any height is good. A 3 ft kid could play tennis. Serving should not be troubling if your 5'10. As long as your abilities fine, you can play tennis no matter what your height!

  3. you can play tennis at any height, will you be a pro at that height? i doubt it, the women are 6 footers, vut don't let that stop you, get your little *** out there and get some love... and deuces.

  4. to become pro i have no idea i guess if ur really good... really i dont think height matters that much

  5. height doesnt matter

however experience does and it will take extra extra work on your part if you want to be able to play tournament level

im 14 started at 11 and its hard but im progressing well

  6. It depends.  Tennis is for any height.  But if you're talking about trying out for pros, then your height is fine as well.  Tennis has always had men just under six feet tall, and that's fine.  And of course, we're seeing more at 5'10" to 5'8"-5'9". It is proving to be useful in today's faster and diverse game.  What is important is the ability, training and game.

  7. David Ferrer(#5 in world) is 5'9".

  8. yeah, you'll be fine. Lleyton Hewitt is 5'10 and so is Fabrice Santoro. Michael Chang is 5'9 and he had a great career.

  9. sorry chief you are to short most pro are 6'2 6'3 but hey!!! if you practice really hard and become one of the best I guess being 5'10 does not really matter

  10. michael chang wasn't necessarily the tallest. He won the french open vs stefan edberg!

    drobny won wimbledon at 31.

I'd only worry if you are 4ft and playing pro level. 5 10 is very good. Absolutely no worries there. The thing that matters is your game and your speed at covering the court. Dont worry about your age or height.

  11. The best height is probably 5'11" - 6'4". You don't want to be too small because you could lack in power and a more effective serve, but you don't want to be too tall because you may not be as graceful moving and more likely to have back issues. 5'10" is a good height. If you look at Federer, he actually has the ideal tennis physique.
