  1. How much depends on what kit you own, where you go and what you intend to breathe:

Cheapest would be to shore dive and only pay for an air fill - Around £3 for a 12L 232 Bar fill.

Most expensive (kit hire + boat + nitrox) could be up to £140 for the day.

Dive sites are all around the coast in the UK so distance from London could be as little as 50 miles (for the Kent coast, depending on which bit of London you are in) up to 550 miles (guess) to get to Scapa Flow.

BSAC - British Sub Aqua Club (www.bsac.org) welcome PADI qualified divers to their branches.

Enjoy your diving when you get here!

  2. There's not usually a charge as such for diving in the UK, unless you are doing so on a professionally organised trip, and then it can vary quite a bit, depending on the organiser. If your are diving with a group such as BSAC or SSAC, the only costs may be fuel (if a boat is involved) and the cost of air.
