My wife and I are planning to visit Canada for honeymoon. She's a green card holder with Taiwan citizenship. I was wondering if VISA is needed for the visit.

  1. Actually, your green card is considered an official travel document, and I believe it is all you need to enter Canada if you are driving from the US.  If you are flying you may need your passport, but I think the fact that she has a green card eliminates the visa requirement .  This first link  may help  you figure it out, but if you are uncertain contact the Canadian Border Services Agency before  you travel.  You will find contact information on their site.  They will be able to answer your question.

  2. No U.S. permanent residents do not need visas to visit Canada no matter what their hme country is.  See site below and read the 6th paragraph from the bottom of the page.

    "Visitor Visa Exemptions

persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence;"

  3. You should not need a visa. You would enter Canada on your I-151 card.  This is what you use when you come and go from the US.

  4. If you are not a Canadian or US citizen, or a citizen of the EU, you will need a visa. Your wife will need a visa too.

That you hold a green card does not guarantee you can enter Canada.

  5. a green card holder does not need a visa to enter canada,
