my mom refuses to buy me veggie anything (including tofu).

i'm sick of plain cheese sandwiches.

i hate mushrooms (with a passion)

i hate all salad dressings.

we cook out a lot, leaving me to fend for myself.

my mom and step-dad don't support me at all, my step-dad is mostly ANTI vegetarian.

and i know someone will suggest pasta. my parents refuse to buy anythign but meat sauce, then add more meat to it later, so i'm stuck with buttered noodles, which i'm sick of.

any advice for me at all?

(i also hate stir fry and chinese food)

see i'm too picky, and i don't know what to do!!!!

  1. Just so you know, cheese is technically not suppose to be apart of a vegetarian diet due to cheese being made from milk and stuff, unless you're just cutting meat from your diet. Why don't you save some money of your own and go out to the grocery store every once in a while to get foods that you'd like to eat, or just go vegan, which is like being a half-vegetarian.

  2. Get a job, learn now to cook, learn to fend for yourself and stop depending on others to support what is essentially an unnecessary and in your case an unsustainable lifestyle choice which YOU have made. If you can't be a vegetarian, then don't be one.

Why should your choices be everybody's problem?

  3. Soy products are the best way to go. BUT, since your parents won't buy them for you, get a job! Earn your own money. Then on your next grocery shopping trip, you can buy your own food with your savings! :)

  4. You certainly feel self righteous about it and they don't exactly seem really sensitive to your needs, to say the least!

You can't afford to be a big pain in the butt to your parents and you ARE!

You feel like you have the right to dictate your ideas about nutrition, but you're not buying the food. You may have to get a part time job and buy your own groceries.

You may feel all grown up, but you're not.

And you simply can't afford to refuse and hate so many foods that are perfectly acceptable to them.

Have you considered you are being extremely demanding yet your tastes are immature? And if you wanted to be a Vegan. Or Kosher?

Good luck, it must be very hard for you!

    .

  5. Buy some stuff yourself.

They can't stop you from spending your own money.

  6. water

  7. omlettes

    rice with different lentils

    spaghetti with tomatoe sauce

    spaghetti on toast

    beans on toast

    cheese on toast

fajita's containing what you do like

  8. I'm quite like you although my mum does buy me stuff i like so i guess i'm lucky..i quite like noodles cooked in a vegetable stock cube instead of just plain water, it gives them a bit of flavour and add some veg like sweetcorn or broccoli if you can and like them..or ask your parents to buy a tomato kind of sauce which you can use some of in your pasta and then they can add to their meat dishes. I also just have a couple of different kinds of vegetables with cheese sauce over it sometimes as a meal which is quite nice. Have a talk with your mum and ask her about buying you things that she could use with meals she is going to be having and you just have them without meat..if you can give her the ideas she might buy some of the stuff for you...i hope i've helped a bit..Good Luck!

  9. a medium rare steak and some fried chicken oh wait you said you were a vegetarian

  10. If you want to eat something other than what is budgeted for and prepared in your home, get a job and buy your own groceries. If you don't know how to prepare the foods, ask your parents, a friend or get a cookbook and learn.

Try things you like on your salad...grated lemon or orange zest, lime or lemon juice, freshly ground whole spices, etc..

Beans are high in protein and easy to dress up/prepare many ways. Search some websites for recipe ideas. Some will have a part of the search engine where you can list ingredients you do or don't want.

Your parents are most likely more concerned with your overall health and the fact that you are still growing than trying to harass you. Do some research and arm yourself with nutritional info then sit down and talk about how you're going to be able to provide your meals for your lifestyle choice.

  11. what about pancakes? yogurt? sour cream and something?

    do-nuts? pretzels, peanuts?

    and lots of fruit...

  12. Just for the record. Cheese is part of a vegetarian diet not a Vegan diet. Vegans are pure vegetarians that don't eat any animal product.

Your parents don't just have meat I'm sure so the vegetables and potatoes can fill some of your diet. As far as pasta, try mixing it with milk and Parmesan cheese. use potato's and vegetables together. If you eat egg's mix that in. Just remember to be a real vegetarian is hard because you must regulate your protein and carbohydrates. If you can't get tofu, eat beans, fruit and greens Sweet potatoes are better then white.

As was mentioned before by others it will be hard to eat beyond what your family budgets. Have you sat down and talked to them about the problem? Perhaps your real father can help in some way. Good Luck!

  13. I'm the worst vegetarian you will ever meet lol! What I LOVE is some pasta noodles with ranch dressing on them yum lol and lets see I like cheese roll ups witch are... soft shell tacos with shredded cheddar cheese in it then you roll it up and put it in the microwave.  I love the taste of garlic and so i like to make spagetti noodles with no sauce except some olive oil and have garlic bread with it and take a bite of each and chew them together it tastes better...
