  1. well u dont rly need to skate to play hockey. i live in jersey and i just play street hockey, u just need to use a hockey ball and a stick and u can shoot at watever, preferably a net tho, just to get better aim or especially if ur playing with friends

  2. You must be a canadian because in the US you can't find hockey on TV.   The reason is it BLOWS!!!!!!!!

  3. Been a fan since I was able to watch Hockey Night In Canada (around 5 or 6 years old). Started playing road hockey about that same time.

You don't have to know how to skate to enjoy the game, I haven't been on the ice in 10+ years. See if you can get a group of 6+ (3 per side or more) guys/gals together and most churches will let you use the parking lot when there is no service going on. Some even let you play inside if they have a hall or some type of gym. My local YMCA and W.I.S.H. center has leagues for different age groups, they take all levels of players. It is a fairly easy game to learn, keep the ball or puck away from the other team while trying to score. The rest of the rules fall into place quickly. If you join a league (ball hockey) ask questions about rules most people in those leagues I am sure will be more than willing to help you understand the finer points. If it's an ice hockey league you are after well, maybe this winter, borrow or buy a pair of skates and go to the local arenas for open skating and practice, then ask around because there are always local "Sunday" (not always on Sundays) leagues. Ice hockey costs alot more than ball hockey as you need alot more equipment for ice hockey. I think you will enjoy the game even more if you can actually play the game once in a while. Just keep in mind have fun with this sport either by watching, playing or both.

  4. uh well i guess this sounds really bad but, i started watching it because i wanted to watch the fights and i really got into it, and now i play it.

  5. oh, i thought you were going to say but you're a Leafs fan.   =)

  6. I did not like hockey at all until I went to a game in 6th grade. After I saw the game I was obsessed. I admired the speed, ability, difficulty of the game. I have loved anything to do with hockey since.

  7. My family are big hockey fans &

I have been watching it since I was a child, that's pretty much it.

  8. I can't skate or play...well...doesn't mean you can't be a fan.

Long story short, came home sick from school when I was a kid, watched some highlites of the previous night's Sabres game, and I was down for the count. I was in 1st grade, so that must've been 1988...I do remember watching the game where Clint Malarchuk was hurt the previous year, so as a child it must've at least kept my attention. I didn't understand most of it till much later, obviously.

  9. I once heard of a hockey team called the Cyclones. I wanted to attend a game because I thought the name was cool. I was like 6. I was just amazed at the whole team's talent. I loved the goalie. So now I have become a good skilled roller hockey goalie and am pushing my parents to buy me ice hockey goalie equipment.

  10. Well my dad dragged me to a hockey game when i was like 9 or 10. I Loved It! It was just a local minor league team though so they weren't very good. I didn't become a fan of the nhl til i was 13. When i was flipping channels on the tv and saw a hockey game on, it so happened it was the Stanley Cup fianls Hurricanes vs. Oilers. So being from Carolina i instanly fell in love with the hurricanes and hockey!

I don't know how to skate either!
