I asked my friend why he kept giving me these compliments, and that I didnt enjoy them. He said he didnt want to stop, cause it made him feel better. Also when I go to a club, complete strangers shake my hand, then walk off, without initating conversation. I assume its some form of guilt, please help me understand.

  1. It might help if you provided a photograph.

  2. These people are spilling these compliments to you because they believe that making you feel better makes them better as a person. Even though you may tell them you don't want them, they still feel like they're making the world a better place. Which obviously isn't true.

  3. They are made to make you feel better,,,when people shake your hand there welcoming you that's all ,,they are not getting into conversation Because they don't know you that's all,,,,,

  4. Have you heard of the 'hot' syndrome? People who think you look good and are jealous of you might continuosly compliment you to hide their insecurities. So just cos ur fren is insecure bout himself doesn't mean that you have to feed from his energy and  make urself insecure as well. And as for the club, hammered people and stupid people playing truth of dare in the club tend to do alot of the 'walking-up-shaking-ur- hand-and-walking-away' thing. It would be best to ignore such people and don't give your hand to any tom, d**k and harry to shake unless they have formally introduced themselves first ok? Hope this helps!

  5. whta do you mean by misfit?

  6. If they're anxious, they mightn't know what else to say to you.
