  1. Only if you want to be considered a dumb blonde.  I would think it would get old as no one would take you serious. What about when the time comes that you really want to contribute to something? What about the time when you actually want respect?

      What about the fight the next blonde has to go through because of the stereo typing dumb blonde that you would be contributing to?

Maria, I like Jake's answer!  When you say everyone, I'm sure you are generalizing or you may need to expand your horizons.  Go to a library, a museum, an art gallery, a town meeting, a volunteer organization, a university campus bookstore.  I'm confident that there are some people out there who do not think that you are stupid.  Only people of less intelligence (and great insecurities) make generalizations and accusations about people that they know little about.  Also, don't mistake these people (acquantainces, family members) as your friends.

    Really, it depends how important these people are in your life.  If they are just some bunch of stupid people that will never tell others how 'dumb' they 'know' you are, then play along and have fun and move far, far away from them someday.  

    If they are important people and you care about your IQ reputation, then spend some time away from them reading an intelligent book or working on an intelligent project.  This will help to change their misperception about you and they will have to realize that you are intelligent.  Otherwise, they will have to go on living in denial.

    The media puts a lot of pressure on women to look like goddesses 24/7.  (Meanwhile, guys have potbellies that look like they are 10 months pregnant...and i never hear or see anything about men's cellulite issues, hair growing all over their bodies, wearing the same clothes that they wore 3 years ago and the same cologne that they wore when they were 18).  Ok, back to women:  Women's hair, makeup, body are all empathized because they appeal to our insecurities and help to pay their bills.  Women must pay attention to their brains and acquire the knowledge and network of professionals that will help pay their own bills.  Forget to put on your make up every now and then.  Pull your hair in a russled pony tail.  Leave them talk about something else besides your beautiful 'blondness.'  Leave them see that you are not flawless in your appearance... yes, you may have to work extra hard on this one!  If you are trying to please others with your looks so they will like you, how is that working for you?  Are you attracting the type of people that the media leads you to believe you will?  Are you getting the kind of attention that you want?  

    How beautiful are you?  Do the women have something to fear... perhaps their men being interested in you for something more than your brains?  Do the men (and women) have something to fear... perhaps you becoming their boss and calling the shots?  Are you young and just trying to have some fun with some so-called friends who fear that your intelligence would outshine theirs?  

    People are jealous, this makes them mean for no apparent, logical reason.  

    If you play along because you have a fear-- a fear of failing when someone asks you an intelligent question that you cannot answer in an intelligent manner, then acquire some intelligence, logic, and knowledge about something that you are truly interested in and will only serve to help you in your life.   If someone asks you a reasonable question about something that you know about, then answer it to the best of your ability.  If someone asks you an unreasonable question that you do not know the answer to, decide whether you will give a comedic response for a good laugh or if you will simply say 'i don't know.'

    Being perceived as a 'dumb' person places little or no accountablility on you to be a responsible, intelligent, maturing adult with responsible, intelligent, maturing relationships.  So maybe right now, you want to live on the lighter side of life.  Just be careful that this light weight doesn't get too heavy and bring you down to a place in life that you do not want to be.  God bless.

    Be yourself.  Why would you ever want to be anything other than yourself?

    Would you, or are you happy just playing along and not being yourself?

    The other thing, that they have yet to touch on, why do you associate with such people?  Why would you want to?

    People should not think or assume you are anything.  They should know you.  If they are friends, are they really worth the time if they think such without ever getting to know you?

    Be yourself.  I know many a smart blond.  My sister for one.  :)

  25. Don't take it too personal. Show them it's not that of a big deal because you're actually not stupid and it's not offending. If you make a few jokes with it, being ironic with the labels that you've been given people will know you're someone, a person and not just a label.

    Confront them directly. Like, if they make or say something just say "So you think I'm dumb because of the color of my hair? How ****** dumb does that make you?!"

    The causes of "stupidity" are not biological. Judging people's intelligence based on some sort of physical appearance is very low and stupid. Sure there are some people that aren't that bright but even in that case.. what if it is so?! I don't get it. It's just like that and that is that. I don't need to belittle or make somebody feel bad. There are always people smarter and better than me. For them I'm just as stupid.

    Just in the case when this one person is attacking on a personal level it's ok to pull that card out. I destroy everyone like that. I always succeed because no one is perfect. In fact we all have a lot of imperfections and insecurities and if someone is trying to use yours against you without a reason, or just because he/she feels better than you, than you have the right to make them feel bad.

    I think blond women give too much meaning to the matter themselves. They extend the problem thinking and worrying so much about it. We are all victims of generalization. People judge fast. Just get past that initial moment and don't give so much meaning into it. Most people offend because they are weak and actually attacking makes them less vunerable.  

    Another thing is that "stupidity" doesn't really exist. Intelligence is how good you understand the surrounding reality and to what extend are your abilities to handle life. If you think about it intelligence is very very different fo defferent people because they have very different lives. You can't compare your intelligence with the intelligence of som african farmer. He hasn't gone to school as much as you but he knows how to operate and survive in his reality and I am pretty sure most "smart" westerners wouldn't last a day on his place.

    A fact. The better you understand life the "smarter" you are. And if you are successful in your life whatever it is than you're d**n "smart".
