  1. Okay, the news may not be what you want to hear:

You are being prescribed this med for severe illness that is not about to go away if you stop taking it. The meds affect your ability to work, but so does the illness.

Many, many people with depression/bi-polar are on SS Disability because they are not able to work. Depression is the most paralysing of the debilitating conditions. No amount of willpower can change that, but stress and tention can only make it worse.

These are the options l see:

1- Accept that you are indeed acutely ill, as though you had diabetes.

2- SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR about your concerns. There may be better meds for you, these side effects may be short-lived... IF YOU CAN'T RELATE TO THE PSYCHIATRIST GET ANOTHER ONE!!! That person must be your partner in management,

3- Get as much help as you can in your business. Do you have employee(s) you can trust to carry more responsibility? Do you have friends or family that can pitch in? This is no time for pride.

4- l have found that moderated honesty works- l say things like, "could you help me with this, l'm taking meds that cause confusion?" or, "Let me get back to you, l've got to put out a fire before l can answer you..."

5- If your business has value, you might look into selling it. Or can you cut back- way back if needed?

6- The worse thing you can do is to underestimate the potential for damage to your business the illness can cost. Try to make provisions for the worst while working towards the best.

l wish you all good  luck.

  2. After a week or 2, many of the side-effects should wear off.  Give it a try for a little longer, or ask your doctor if they can recommend an alternative.

  3. Do your best to concentrate and grow your business. After it grows to making a good bit of money, hire people to do the work for you, then you can be as spacy as you want, you don't have to do anything.

  4. Lexapro definitely will make you feel ill for the first week or two, but after that you typically become accustomed to it. If it persists go see your psychiatrist to get prescribed something else. I personally know a few people that cannot take lexapro because the side effects were too much for them to handle. There's also people on webmd that say the same thing.
