I'm only 16 and I don't want this habit to follow me into my future. I spend a lot of money. Mostly because i'm bored and I think purchasing products is the way to go. But afterwards, I feel guilty and horrible. My parents already take half my paycheck for college which is good, but they still said I need to make an effort to save money or they won't help me pay for it. I feel like everytime I go to a store I have to buy something. Even if it's useless which is very stupid. Please help. I need advice and tips on how I can resist the urge to buy and waste money. I need tips on saving money!

  1. omg, that much be so hard!

i used to a shopper that would only spend somebody elses money'

i think youl grow out of it, i did.

  2. Maybe try and set up a budget for yourself where you put so much aside and the rest you are allowed to spend. Find out what is missing in your life that you are trying to replace with material things. have will power and don't go shopping. Think of how much money you will have if you save it. having the actual cash is better than the material thing that will get old fast.

  3. Saving money

cut down shopping to one day and spent the whole time browsing and trying clothes in shop. you be to tired to buy anything accept for one item.

If you have any old clothes that you don't want can be given away Goodwill or other stores that donated clothes.

    I think this will work

    it work for me.

  4. Don't go to the mall or any clothing stores for awhile. It may help.

  5. Keep a budget book where you keep track of your expenses by category. Budget so much for each category to spend. Include a savings category. Save and use coupons. Ask stores when they usually have sales on items of interest. Find new hobbies you really enjoy.

  6. Cut up your ATM card and only allow yourself a little cash. If you don't have an easy way to get at your money it is harder to spend it. If you feel like you HAVE to shop, go to a thrift store..... you get a lot more for your money
