  1. its a  tri- oval

  2. Ovals are just a generic term for non road courses.  Yes Pocono is a triangle but so is Daytona, Talledega, Chicago.  Pocono is just very unique.

  3. I can understand what your trying to say. I think about it too sometimes but on other ovals its a strait away, turn, mini strait away (sord of?,thats what confuses me and makes me thing its only one turn) , turn, back stretch, turn, mini strait away, turn, back to strait away.

Another way to think about it is...Take Daytona for example. If you were to overlap the begining of a turn at daytona and pocono's turn...If you cut off the turn halfway to 3/4 way at daytona and drew a line strait..It would overlap one of poconos three strait aways after one turn. See what Im saying?

  4. Its a triangle.  Last time I checked triangles have 3 sides.

  5. alot of the drivers refer to it as 6 corners

its considered a tri oval thats why they say 3

  6. Some drivers do treat Pocono as a 6-turn track when they communicate during the race.

But Pocono's turns aren't as big as the ovals, especially since most of the time the cars are on the straightaways.

  7. it should not be classified as an oval since it's triangle.

  8. It's a triangle. Not a hexagon.
