EVERY single time i go to PE i either go low right before, ten minutes into during, ten minutes after PE, or im low for five hours straight! I'm completely in control and I dont want to have to go to 230 to be able to get a good grade in PE!! Please help!

  1. Suck on a sweet during your PE to maintain constant input of sugar into your body so that you don't go hypo.

  2. Eat a snack like peanut butter crackers or a granola bar before you start your PE class.  You must eat something before exercise like you have in PE class.  Your snack should be good carbs, not sugar, sugar won't sustain the blood sugar level, it will let it drop.  Lows can be very dangerous.

  3. my friends little sister is diabetic and when ever she gets low she has to eat like a spoon full of peanut butter which  helps.

  4. Maybe your insulin doses are too high.

You need to remember you're getting exercise during PE - and working out, the muscles become A LOT more sensitive to insulin, meaning a little insulin goes a long way.

Try eating breakfast but taking no insulin, and then test 2 hours after your PE class.  See if your high or low.  If you're high, then trying only taking half of your breakfast insulin, test again 2 hours after PE

I say test 2 hours after PE because coming out of a work out if you test right away, you'll find your sugars might be a little spiked, so give your body some time to rest.

I'm really thinking it's just your fast acting at breakfast is too high.

If you find that's working, you might also need to lower your lunch time insulin as well, because again, you exercised right!
