Only applicants born outside the United States who are claiming to have been born U.S. citizens are required to provide all the dates when their U.S. citizen father was in the United States.

and

Only applicants who are claiming to have been born U.S. citizens outside of the United States are required to provide all the dates when the U.S. citizen mother was in the United States

they are with the same meaning aren't they?

  1. They mean basically the same, except one is about the father and the other one is about the mother.


  2. Yes, they mean the same but one os for Father and the other is for Mother.

    It applies to someone whose parents are American citizens but their mother was outside the country when she gave birth to him/her.

  3. They are both pretty much the same but one's for the mum and one's for the dad x
