I'm a fat girl trying to start running...?

I'm trying out for my school's cross country team and we ran a timed run (5k) today and I got 35 minutes. The coach says that to be on the team at all, you have to run 5k in 30 minutes or under. She's timing us Monday. What can I do this weekend to improve my time dramatically? I'm a 13 year old girl. I can't buy spikes before Monday.

  2. well its pretty hard to improve that much over a weekend but time yourself and run as much as you can...before the day you run drink water or gatorade make sure your energized and push yourself as much as you possibly can,if you feel like stopping...dont,keep going...if you absolutely cant take it any more and your about to drop dead...dont stop...slow down to a jog but dont stop,you have to keep going ,and at the end of that run you will feel great that you did it!!email me and tell me how it goes please hay_girl_hay221@yahoo.com...i really want to know how to help more and im intrested that your putting real effort into this:)
