You can easily get your visa as long as you have some skills so you can get a job in UK and support yourself.

If you are a skilled, employed, working and independent person and you have a job in UK to go to then it is ready in under 5 days. Your new employers send a letter which you submit to the Embassy. They are very nice people at the UK embassy. Especially if you are a Nurse, Doctor, Teacher, Midwife, then you are really well treated and Highly respected when you arrive here.

If you are just on holiday you just need to show you have a job and house to go back to and some cash for your holiday.

It will cost £26 pounds as a tourist or £75 pounds to work, payable in Pesos at the official rate (so a little more expensive but not very much).

It is not so expensive in Uk if you arrive in good health and you book your hotels well in advance but sme things are very expensive (like seeing a doctor or dentist). But if you work here these things are free (but there is a long waiting list).
