all i can think of is a discussion group about a topic, for example depression but i know there must be much more exciting and interesting things that we could do, something to do with senses perhaps?

  1. Are their any parameters?  Is the group about depression?  What is the purpose of the group?  This is really the first question that must be asked.  Why is the group coming together - this will lead you to a much better conclusion than what can I do with "blind people"  I think you will find that blind people can probably do almost anything a sighted group can do (but with modification).  If I did not have any idea what the purpose of the group was for I would probably start out with "why do you think you folks are all together in a group" and "Now that we are all together what do you want to focus in on in the group?"  Also you don't mention age, gender, SES, recent blindness vs. life long, etc. all of these would be good info to know.  You might want to take a look at any of the number of good group work texts in social work that explore the preliminary points of group work.
