  1. You will have to go through American Customs. The Airport Security will check your passport and sometimes your baggage. Then you are admitted into the country as a tourist.

  2. get ur bags and stuff and ask the staff where to go (your probly going to L.A.X then wait for your freinds/family or get a taxi

  3. Go to your airline check in counter so you check in and leave your checked luggage (the ones you won't carry on). They will give you a boarding pass which says at what time you have to be at which gate. Anyway they will probably tell you what to do next or you can ask them.

If there are many check in counters they may have displays which say which flights they're checking.

If you have a laptop or something to declare at the customs you may need (depending on your country laws) to go the customs to declare stuff. They will give you documentation that states that what you carry with you was not bought abroad for when you get back so you avoid paying taxes for it and maybe penalties.

Then, depending on the airport, you may need to pay the airport fee or airport taxes at another counter. That may be already included in the ticket cost. Just ask.

Then you have to go to the boarding area. You will pass through a security check. If you're leaving the country there will be migration counters where you have to fill in migration forms and show your passport.

Then you will probably go through the free shop to the boarding area. You have to go to the gate pointed in your boarding pass.

Keep looking the screens to check if you're flight gets changed to another gate.

Then wait until you're called to board the plane.

When you get to the destination airport you will have another security check, migration and then you will pick up your checked luggage, go through customs and you're a free man.
