i'm a freshman in high school. i'm 14, about 4' 11", and 98-101 pounds, depending on what i eat i guess. i know that's a normal weight, but my one base only weighs 105 pounds. and i know that as long as i stay tight, i weigh less in the air, and i do everything right, but she always complains about how heavy i am, and how she wants her old flyer back (who is only 80 pounds). should i try to lose some weight? if so, how? or should i just convince her to suck it up... any advice?

  1. No way! Tell her to suck it up! As long as you are staying tight, she needs to be quiet. You guys are only getting older and are going to weigh more and your bodies are gonna change. This isn't junior high cheering anymore. You guys have muscles and that weighs way more than fat! Just tell her to keep her mouth shut and stunt!

  2. Definetly not.

A base should never let a flyer think theyre too heavy, If you were too heavy your coach wouldnt have you flying. Your base needs to suck it up and do her job. And someone needs to tell her how rude it is to say "I like my other flyer better".  Is your base a freshman? because she sounds a little immature to me.

  3. no okay i weight 90 pounds I'm a HEALTHY 11 year old actually I'm a skinny 11 year old and if u really care if she thinx ur to heavy **** her so WHAT r u a good flyer can u do all of ur stunts then fine if u really concerned about this then lose five bounds but at the risk you will become un healthy

  4. Sounds like you need a stronger base, not a diet.

If this becomes a real problem you may need to speak with your coach about your concerns, but hopefully (s)he will notice the situation first, especially if your stunts consistently don't hit.

  5. im 5'4 120 pounds and im a flyer. your base is just being rude and just try to ignore it. just tell her that if there is anything that you can do to improve the stunt, then you will. you are tiny!! dont worry!

  6. tell her to suck it up! she needs to build up some muscle. its not your fault she is your base and she should take it up with the coach you dont need to lose weight. the better flyers usually weigh more cause they have more muscle. just tell her to suck it up and she should build the muscle to lift you. good luck! =]
