  1. Learning another language never hurts. Esp. if you've got the time and resources. No matter what field. There would be possibilities that you would have to communicate with someone speaking another language.

Spanish an French are widely spoken languages. So you can choose between the two.

  2. language is always great! i learn japanese, but have taken it for along time. I took spanish, which is really easy.  my roommate takes french which is a beautiful language, and german is just crazy haha.  I am not sure what language fits with biology the best, or which one may be used other than english the most, you should check that out!! so you can use it to your advantage

  3. Im a freshman too and take Spanish and French and study German at home. Languages are a really good thing to have and colleges look for it on your resume

  4. You have at least four years, and hopefully eight to get this done. If you apply yourself, you can probably learn both Spanish and French. You'll be surprised how similar the process is.

    Good luck and congratulations!

  5. I'm a sophomore and I take Spanish. I'm taking it because not only will it benefit me in the future, but most colleges require their students to have taken a foreign language to even get into their school.

  6. It depends slightly on where you live, but I think Spanish would probably be your best bet. It is the second-most spoken language in the United States (behind English), and it's even MORE common than English in certain parts of the southern USA.

There are also a lot of countries around the world which use Spanish as their official language (Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Panama, El Salvador...to name a few).

However, I've been assuming you live in the United States. If you live in Canada, or even the more northern United States, you might consider French. If you live in Europe, German would be helpful.

    Hope this helped!

  7. Go with Spanish.

  8. In today's job market were I live Bilingual is A job requirement (Spanish)

I would think allot of companies are looking for someone that speak another language. so my answer is YES take another language it will benefit you later in life.

  9. Wait until a later year and then take at least a year in a foreign language.  French is a romantic language and it is useful with a few words and phrases.  It would most likely be useful if you live near Canada.  Spanish could be useful since the Hispanic population is growing so fast in the US.  German would be the least practical unless you live in a German area, like Minnesota or central Texas.  None of these languages would help much in biology.  So take French if you live in the north and Spanish if you live in the south or don't know which you live in.
