I know how to kind of swim, but not freestyle kind. Where you breath and swim, breath and swim, if you know what i mean. i want to join, and people say its intense. 2 reasons why i want to join. I want to get in shape, and have fun!! But anyone who would like to give me advice or experiences in their high school swimming teams, i would love to hear your advice! Thank you, (;

  1. jump in you will either sink or swim

  2. You definately want to look for some advanced lessons.  You need to know the basics of the 4 swimming strokes, and yes it is hard

  3. most high school swimmers have been swimming before they could walk... at least the people on my teams. take lessons or it could be dangerous buddy

  4. Just give it a chance. There are some people who really, well they aren’t to fast. Your coach will help improve your stroke. Just remember, you have to be committed and it’s pretty intense. Being a freshman, you’ll have a lot of time to improve. Have fun with it; you’ll make a ton of good friends as well as stay in great shape. Don’t be intimidated when you first start out, yeah some people there have been swimming forever, but they had to start somewhere. Who knows, you might just fall in love with it and in the future get a scholarship! Good luck, B.

  5. Ummm, thats not a great idea to start right away as a freshman if you can't swim, you might want to swim for the next year on a club team.  You will learn the basics there, so when you come to tryouts you know what you are doing.  There are usually club teams affiliated with the high school team.  If you can't find anything online, ask around.  I'm sure there are club teams near you!
