Hi, I'm a general BBA student. I'm unsure as to which non-business electives I should pick up to compliment my business education?

what's a good business minor to take? I really dont have a preference, as long as it's a good choice career wise.

Also, I was wondering what types of jobs I would be looking at after graduation, the starting salary range and the future employment prospects?

If anyone can help me with these questions I'd be really thankful. I tried asking my department's adviser all this but the dude seemed clueless. :S Thanks!

  1. well, me for example, i'm also going to be an undergrad business student. i plan on getting my MBA in the future.

i plan on double majoring: a major in business admin and a major in art history. i want to be a gallery director or art consultant.

you can minor in whatever you want. with a general business degree, you can start your own business and you can go into business and finance and the like if you take those kinds of classes. think about what you really want to do and go on from there.

  2. after BBA getting job is not very easy, so you should go  for MBA also

and you can opt for elective of your choice if choices are available

I think you should go for any HR subject,HR in demand these days

  3. Go to your school's career center.  They should have tests such as the Strong Interest and the Meyers-Briggs.  These test will give you a better idea of your strengths and interests as they relate to career choices. They will also have extensive resource information regarding careers, salaries, occupational outlooks, etc.  Academic advisers are trained to advise you regarding how to achieve your academic goals but a career counselor is trained to advise you regarding your future goals on which your academic goals should be based. I don't what school you attend but I work in the career center of a college and I know most schools have such a center.

  4. A language always helps out as a minor. Spanish is the most popular but Mandarin Chinese might help out your future prospects as China-U.S. business relations becomes even more important to the economy.

Advisers can be a little overwhelmed in the beginning. I would suggest finding some older students within your program on your campus who can help give you a better perspective on what minor would complement your major.
