I'm a girl looking for a cheap good amp under $100?

I have no experience with any of this stuff. I am going to teach myself how to play it, and I started like a week ago, so I'm really a noob. Don't make fun of me. Guitar Center is close to my house, so that's where I will get the amp. It has to be under $100. And can someone give me info about the guitar cables or chords or whatever you call them. I want the amp to be a good one that will work all the time during practice. How long do amps usually work for? (before you have to change the battery or something) What can I do? And I don't want to get famous or anything.

  1. You should look for an amp that has a head phone jack. You can by Fender, Crate and many others. Just try them out.

  2. Behringer has great low priced amps for beginners. As for cable I got this really nice one for my birthday but I don't know the name. It has Audio Low Noise instrument cable printed on it. And it has a blue end with a s***w on cap thingy. It's really good though.

  3. amps don't need batteries, and they should work for like 20 years unless they suck.  theres no such thing as a good amp for under 100 dollars to be honest.  whatever you get will probably be equally crappy.

  4. The cable is called a patch cord or patch cable.  A good amp for under $100 will be easier to find at a small music store than Guitar Center.  You want a small practice amp with nothing fancy in it.   Try and get a no-name brand, anything with the name Marshall, Carvin, Ampeg, Peavy is gonna be more expensive because of the label.    I recommend a small Gorilla amplifier, theyre cheap but durable.   I had one that I picked up to use as a practice amp almost 20 yrs ago, I gave it to my nephew last year and it still works.

You probably meant changing tubes, ya dont have to worry about that , you cant get a tube amp that cheap.  just make sure you turn it off when your done practicing, and don't spill anything on it.  Take care of it and it will last a very long time.

Hope this helped a little, good luck.
