I'm trying out for high school soccer. I'm kinda nervous. What should I expect?

  1. Hmmmm.... i am trying to think back to when i tried out for goalie. Most of the time goalies are there to stand in goal and be a part of whatever drill the coaches decide to put together. If that drill uses a goal then a goalie would be used. Basically just block shots that are being blasted at you, shots may vary. There will also be scrimmaging with goalies to test their skill of coming out for the ball and charging. They also may take you to the side and shoot at you individually so that they can see how you block and catch the ball (your technique) using their shots (which they can control). They may also ask you to punt the ball out as well just to see how well you can kick. Most of the tryout will be blocking shots which require jumping up, correct placement, moving as the ball moves, adequate timing, and diving. Good luck!


  2. Expect a large bull to come running down the field at your head.  Dodge the animal and send it soaring towards the moon.  Just remember to move out of the way before the animal lands on your left ear.

  3. you should expect to stand in the goal and try to stop balls from going in the net
