I'm a guy, and I'm getting married next Friday. What can I do in a week to make myself look and feel better?

I know that I've procrastinated on this and now I'm down to a week. At the wedding, there are going to be a lot of people who haven't seen me in a while. I'd like to lose 5 pounds if possible. I'd also like to clear my face up. I don't have terrible acne, but I do have my spots that always seem to be there. Our wedding is outside, so the sun is going to be bright on my face, showing my complexion to many many people. Should I go tan somewhere to hide the spots? I'd actually go as far as going to a makeup person someplace to have my face look as good as possible. Do some guys do this for their wedding? I just want my face to reflect how happy I am. What can I do in the next 7 days to lose a little weight and also help my complex look its best? Thanks for your answers.

  1. go to your doctor and ask for an antibiotic for your face, but it probably won't work in a week.  you should have thought about this months ago.  DO NOT wear makeup, it will show up in your wedding photos and you'll regret it forever.  as for the 5 lbs, don't go crazy dieting and whatnot because a crash diet can be bad for your health.  no one will probably notice if you lose 5 lbs, just because of the way guys are built.  you'd have to lose more than that to make any difference.  just be active this week, walk or bike instead of driving, don't eat out in restaurants, prepare your own food, and drink enough water.

  2. Trying going to a spa and having a facial exfoliation...it will help, and your skin will feel so much better.  If you want to tan, go ahead.  Do whatever you think will get you feeling the way you want going into the wedding.

  3. Well, I don't know if you can lose 5 lbs. in a week, but I would recommend sticking to salads and fruits and avoiding many carbs or fattening foods for the next week.  It would also be good if you belong to a gym or can get in some exercises daily.

In regards to your skin, I have dealt with a lot of skin problems and you can't clear anything up in a week.  Even a prescription medication is going to make things worse before they get better, so I wouldn't start anything new now.  Just try to eat healthy and drink lots and lots of water, that will help your skin.  If you want to look into getting someone to put concealer on the spots you are unhappy with on the day of, that might be your best bet.

    Good luck!

  4. Don't do the tanning thing. Those spots on your face will only get worse with tanning. They will be more visible. Don't do the make-up thing either. You are a man... Men don't wear make-up. You are not getting married to impress people. You are getting married to the women that you want to spend the rest of your life with. I wouldn't worry about what others are thinking. Not to mention that theywill be looking at the bride more. There eyes will be on the bride most of the time. That is how weddings go. They all ooo and ahh at the brides dress etc.

I would suggest getting a face wash like Neutrogena Men® Skin Clearing Face Wash treats and helps prevent breakouts. Also use this scrub Neutrogena Men® Razor Defense® Face Scrub deep cleans for smoother skin and less razor irritation. Then you will also need Neutrogena Men® Age Fighter Face Moisturizer helps reduce the look of lines and wrinkles, plus protects and hydrates skin in one step.. This product does work! Use it everyday! You will have dramatically better looking skin by your wedding day. Here is the website if you want to read further http://www.neutrogena.com/men.asp

    Good Luck

About the weight thing I would do Atkins for a week. No carbs. Eat all the meat that you want but no sugars, pasta, potato's bread. No carbs. I did it for 14 days and lost 12 pounds so I bet that you could lose at least 5 pounds in 7 days. or more. Here is the website.http://www.atkins.com/how-atkins-works.h...

  5. Don't lose any weight since your clothes won't fit properly and you'll get annoyed that way. Just do the following for your skin and you'll feel less bloated. Five pounds are not noticable in clothes so don't even stress. At the very most, go for long walks in the morning or at nights (30-45minutes each)

For the skin: Stay away from fatty foods, white bread (even bread completely), pastas, rice and potatoes. Stay far away from sugar, chocolates and most nuts. Eat more salads (not too much dressing, use balsamic vinegar), drink more water and have plenty of fruit. Start the day with a glass of water first. Have cereal with some fruit, grilled chicken with veggies and salad, fish with beans and salad.

Wash your face twice a day with baby soap and mild facial scrub (I use st. ives for acne prone skin, and it's great). Change your pillowcase immediately and don't touch your face much at all.

DO NOT go to an aesthetician! They might use chemical peels, etc and you will never know how your skin reacts until it's done and if you're like me, your skin could breakout like it has chicken pox from the chemicals they use.

Just let your skin breathe and don't play with too many products. Do NOT tan, it won't hide anything and might actually irritate your skin and make it peel and burn! At the very most, your photographer will be able to even your skintone in the pics if necessary. NO makeup for men. Definitely change your pillowcase and make sure your hair doesn't have alot of products in it when you sleep (it could all get into your skin!)

Also, if you can go for teeth cleaning or whitening, that'd be the best :)

Congrats and all the best :)

  6. Depending on how hum.. confidant you are... If you want to look your best, and FEEL better, you could go see an esthetician as soon as you can (they are not just for girls you know) to get a facial. Helps clean skin, and relaxes you.  Even if you go tan, in only a week you don't have enough time to tan enough... so maybe foundation would be the way to go. And yes, hard to lose weight in 7 days, but stick to healthy foods, and eat lots of fruits. Avoid pasta!!
