  1. Definitely not. Many people think poetry is really romantic. And if you enjoy doing it, why stop?

Also, if you have to ask if you should be embarrassed, doesn't that answer your question?

If someone on here says 'yes, be very embarrassed' are you going to start being embarrassed on just their opinion? If you are embarrassed strangers on the internet aren't going to change your mind, and if you aren't embarrassed they shouldn't.

  2. Check out Dondi, Neonman,Hydropro, etc. in this section. They all write poetry and have since they were young.I don't think you have anything to be embarressed about.Keep writing. The chicks will love you.

  3. No, you shouldn't be embarrassed.  Plenty of men write genius poetry.  And it's not just for girly men. ^^

  4. I write poetry and one day at school someone took my folder and accidentally saw my poetry i thought he would laugh at my poetry but he showed to other people in the class and everyone liked it.

Nothing you should be embarrassed about =D

  5. no way! i love guys who write poetry, it shows they actually like something thats not checking out girls or playing video games ;)

  6. No, if you enjoy it you shouldn't be embarrassed.

  7. embarrassing? not even close, it's s**y ! a guy who shows his emotional side is amazing, and if you have a girlfreind, writing her nice poems and letters would make her feel extra loved and special.

  8. Hemingway, Shakespear, Elvis Presley.... ALL POETS.  The only difference between them and you??  They weren't embarrased by their talent.  Live what you love... forget what others think.

  9. No i=I think lots of people are like you.

  10. Inform yourself about the greatest Poets ever. Almost all of them were

    Men.

Goethe, Schiller, von Lillienthal, Heine, Tersteegen etc. etc. etc.

  11. I can't imagine why you'd feel embarrassed having such a talent.

I'm a guy, and I have a poem "Anxiety" thats been published in 'America at the Millennium:  the Best Poems and Poets of the 20th Century' .

I am quit proud of having my poem included in such a fine volume of work.

My thought is that you should keep writing, and submitting your work; who knows you may turn out to be the Poet Laurent of your generation.

  12. No. Think about it. At one point I'm sure Shakespear was thought insane for his endeavors and Browning maybe a wuss, but look what they had accomplished. Not to mention that every song starts out with a poem of some sort. Theres more to just poetry writing then what meets the eye and if honed and skilled can be quit beneficial in life.

  13. Not at all, i have no clue how old you are, but if you're young you'll find out when you're older that girl adore poetry, and if you like doing it and you're good at it it's a talent, and you shouldn't be ashamed.

  14. Why be embarrassed of something you like doing?

  15. No way.  I think any guy who is smart and passionate enough to write poetry, should be proud of himself.  Someday, I hope to meet a guy like you who's sensitive enough to read poetry, and actually take it in.  If there were more guys like you in the world, this planet would be a way better place.  :)  Keep doing what you love.

  16. never, some girls love it!

  17. probably, I have not read it. But Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass comes to mind.

  18. Not embearassing, and i wish i could find a guy who writes poetry, that means youre sensative, but i wouldnt go around showing your man friends.   ;]   lol
