  1. Are they not teaching you "research" by now?

Google! I mean, using Yahoo Answers is a good avenue as well, but you need a bit more beef in your search. Look up colleges in your local directory. Are you staying in-state or do you have the option of going out-of-state? Have you applied to scholarships? I suggest checking out fastweb.com

Also, have you filled out your FAFSA yet? A lot of times, they will give you a list of colleges to choose from and you pick "top three", etc that you would consider going to. FAFSA then sends those schools your financial eligibility info and those schools in turn, send you brochures.

I also recommend you talk to your school counselor about a possible concurrent enrollment program. See if you qualify to take any college-level courses your senior yr in h.s.

  2. in my place, you actually go and look at the center before choosing. and here, you also need to apply to get in.

  3. Check out:

    Thanks

  4. if you give your info to most college help website you will get flooded with letters and brouchers

  5. You still have plenty of time! What I suggest is that you start researching what you are interested in and what schools have what you want. I would say by winter break you should know what you want and by the end of school you should have a list of potential schools to narrow down from. Also, when you take the ACT schools will start sending you things.

  6. Go on-line and look at their programs.  Every School has on-line admission and information.

  7. You have so many options that it is impossible to answer the question.

Probably the best place to start is with your high school counselor. If you have no idea, ask for a Kuder Preference test.

You need to narrow your search. Do you want to leave your state? Do you have any idea of what you would like to study? Do you have any idea of how much money you can count on outside of scholarships. loans and jobs while you are attending school? Would you consider starting at a community college?

Every college is on the Internet. You can write for college catalogs, but most of them are online anyway.

Keep in mind that WITHIN FIVE YEARS OF GRADUATION with a bachelor's degree, 50% of all graduates are in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FIELD.

In all likelihood, the first job that you will have as a college graduate has not been invented yet.

  8. collegeboard.com

  9. Picking the best college largely depends on what you want to study.

Also I just came across this page, it may help you out: http://www.bookrags.com/articles/41.html

    Good Luck!!

  10. Hey, I'm a junior too but I've gotten letters from colleges about soccer so I guess the situation is a little different. Don't worry I'm sure if you score well enough on the psat/sat you will begin to get noticed, good luck.

  11. just wait.

in about a month you'll be receiving something from a college about once  a week.

If you just want to be sure go to websites of the colleges you're interested in.

Most colleges have a mailing list you sign up for.
