  1. I say would $100 if want u take lessons

  2. the best thign to do would be to go to you local golf store of and tell them exactly what you are looking for, prices can be anywhere from 100's to 1000 dollars.  If you are really going to try I would recoomend getting a set of clubs that is tailored to suit you, just like ccloths they match everythign up to fit your body, height, even swing. It may cost a little ore but the benefits are sure worth it.

  3. I would start off with a nice set of Callaways for women

  4. Look on Adams Golf site under ladies sets. They just got the Golf Digest award for being one of the best and easiest to hit,

                          Happy golfing.

  5. I'd suggest you have a golfing friend find you a decent half set or full set of clubs on eBay at a reasonable price. You could try the yard sale approach too, if you're into those things. For a beginner, it's really all about "whether you're going to like the sport enough to invest in really good equipment later on". To get to that point, you need to get an older starter set and go whack around the driving range and the golf course a few times. If, after that, you're still interested in the game, you can dump the old beater clubs and get a better set... and you haven't really lost your investment (cause there really wasn't much of one). You should be able to find some clubs and a bag on eBay for around $50.

Btw... there's ALOT of 50+ guys out there that would love to give you lessons!

  6. pinemeadowgolf.com

they have really cheap clubs that are good quality

  7. I'm not 50 but I started out with Nancy Lopez graphite shafts. They're not the high end but good enough clubs. Currently, I believe a lot of clubs are pretty good technology wise. Even Target has good stuff.

  8. I'm a guy 50's also and i have been in the golf industry for 35 years..The best  golf clubs for you to buy are the Nancy Lopez line which is high quality at lower prices.  You can find them at any of your better golf stores.

  9. In my opinion if you are just starting out you should start out the right way.  My wife took up the game at 49 after we met.  I insisted that she visit a PGA Professional and get a proper fit and recommendation.  She purchased a set of Ladies Tour Edge irons 5 thru PW with steel shafts, a 3, 5 and 7 wood and a putter.  She later added a 4-hybrid and a 7 wood.

She took a few lessons and has become pretty good.  Now 55 she has a 12 handicap and we enjoy our weekends on the links together.  The point is, proper fitting is THE most important aspect of buying clubs.  Whether you are a beginner or a low handicap.  Fit is essential.

Use locater above. Find a builder and fitter near you, give him a call and ask him,  he will be glad to answer your questions.  They are certified by the Professional clubmakers society and they are recognized by the PGA,

  11. I am a lady in my 50s also, and I just started playing last year. I called a small independant golf store and asked if they had a starter set of clubs. They had a new set of Square 2 clubs they sold me for half price since Adams Golf had bought the company and they could not give me a warrenty. The sales lady made sure the clubs fit me based on my height. If you deceide to go to a chain store, they would have good used clubs you could get cheaper than new and they would fit you based on height and swing.

I hope you do take up the game and love it as much as I. I have already started upgrading my clubs.
