I'm a leader in a theater camp -- I need a few suggestions.

Our objective for the two weeks is to construct a play using random characters (Ex. Superman, Steve Erwin, Paris Hilton -- very random). The play is coming along very well but I need some very random help. Can anyone think of funny things that Superman, Willie Nelson, or Steve Erwin might buy at Walmart. Random, I know, but any help would be oh-so appreciated!

  1. I think you should have the kids pick ordinary items out of a hat and have them show what these characters could do with them.  It would be more fun to see what Steve Irwin would do with shaving cream and Cheerios instead of things you might expect him to need in the Outback.  I say look at your mom's shopping list and start writing the items on slips of paper.  Have the kids take on a character then start their improv then yell freeze.  That's when you give one of them an item and see what happens.  30 seconds later (or whatever) freeze again and give another character an item.  Or you can give them all items and see what happens... whatever works.  Superman and dental floss :-) Maybe he'd tie up Paris, who knows.  I'll bet your students would be much more creative with regular items that with things you'd expect them to have.

Oops, looks like I misread the question!  For a play?  I think one of them should have a bicycle because their regular mode of transportation isn't working (maybe paris had another DUI?), Steve Irwin could be buying Dickies and stopping to look at the audience soing obvious product placement throughout the show with everything he does or you could do that with Superman... Superman could contantly be buying items for his white smile :-D  Maybe if I knew something about the plot I could be more helpful.

    good luck,

    Marianne

  2. Superman should buy some kind of weapon or maybe ladies' underwear.  Steve Irwin could buy some kind of fur or animal product or maybe a fishing pole.  I'm not sure about Willie Nelson.

  3. Superman might need some wings to fly! LOL im lame!!! I dont know

  4. As far as Superman, I've always wondered where he shopped for his clothes. What if he got a run in those tights, shades of blue are not easy to match. Perhaps, these characters could ask customers for help with a new fall look. It seems to me if Superman went with a demi cape it would be easier to get in and out of windows. Just a suggestion.

  5. It would be funny if Superman asks for "justice" and somebody says..."sorry,...it is too expensive...you cannot afford it..."..then he asks if they sell "courage"...and the salesmen say something like...no..."it is not easy to find any courage in these days..."...
