I gave birth to my first child 6 weeks and 3 days ago, I did not breast feed as i had lost too much blood and had to be put to sleep and have a drip to help me live... I carried on not breast feeding as i was too weak.

Well any way i had milk leaking from me for the first 2 week after having my baby and then it stopped and today at 6 weeks milk just all of a sudden started leaking from my breast... Is this normal?

Is it my body's way of telling me i should be breast feeding? Is it too late to start?

  1. Never too late! the more you do it the more the milk will come through, enjoy it!

  2. No its not too late! If you pump/nurse the milk will come in and you can bottle feed her or nurse her. The more milk you pump the more will come in. try try try. it will be good for the both of you. Did you know that women that nure have a better chance of Not getting breast cancer? That is so awsome! I would try to do it and contact a lactation consaltant at the hospital or go to

and see what they have to say to you there!

  3. not too late to start

    try it

if baby likes it, thats great

  4. Never too late. Go for it Girl! I am a huge fan of breastfeeding, it's so much healthier than formula.

  5. I have 3 children my youngest is nearly 3 years old, and I still occasionally leak milk.

I think it is normal it will probably take your body 6 to 12 months to return to normal.

I don't know whether it would be advisable to start breast feeding after 6 weeks as your baby will be used to the milk they are having, it just might upset there system if you decided to try it.

    Good luck.

  6. No, it's not too late to start at all!

See if baby will latch to your breast!
