Ok, So I'm a tomboy... And I'm starting 6th Grade. I train for gymnastics 5 days a week! And. I'm a little worried for 6th Grade... I'm thinking about being a little less of a tomboy but not a girly girl... How can I dress for school so that I don't change completely but can wear a little less tomboy stuff.Right now, what I would wear to school is a pair of Soffee's and a gymnastics t-shirt but the middle school I am going to doesn't allow you to wear anything with an alastic waist band And where I live the weather is hot but we can't wear really short shorts which sucks! Can you please tell me how to dress!!Last year, at fifth grade graduation, I wore a skirt and some people made fun of me and even one of my friends made fun of me and it made me feel really bad but then she said she didn't mean it. She thought I would take it okay but one of my other friends pointed out to her that I took it offensive and she apologized. But, anyway, If you could please give me a thourough answer!

  1. I had the same exact problem when I went into sixth grade. Now, looking back, I think I just decided to wear *almost* girly stuff, like bright colours and punky skirts with leggings. So I think you should wear kinda girly things from Hot Topic or Rave or Wet Seal. And if you get made fun of, remeber that its not going to matter. You'll grow up and forget all about Junior High drama. Have a cool and comfortable clothing collection, and try to focus on your school work. (it couldn't hurt! ;))

    Good luck!!

  2. If i were you i would just wear a cute regular T-shirt and maybe some Capris. that's kinda stupid they don't let you wear short shorts. Well that outfit is not girly and it's not tom boy it's just something a girl would wear! Good luck in sixth grade!

  3. i think you're asking us how we and other people want you to dress. dress how you want and how you feel. if people have a problem with it....its their problem. if you don't want to stick out and attract alot of unwanted attention, wear something casual. be yourself, nobody can replace you.

  4. To start...by-the-way...it's spelled "elastic" and "thorough"...

Otherwise, you write like someone much older....are you sure you're a sixth grader???

Since I live in the hot and humid South...I see a lot of young girls wearing "skorts" (looks like a skirt but has shorts attached underneath), and capris.

Never be anything other than who you are...I was a "tomboy" too..so is my step daughter (aged 12)...wear what you are comfortable in...and if someone makes fun of you, know that deep inside they are really just jealous...trust me on that one...BE YOU, dear...and let others see your confidence and PERSONAL style...lots of "trend setters" wear stuff NO ONE else does...and then everyone wants to copy them....

Feel good in what you wear....
