I would really like other helpful pointers to babysitting. what would you look for in a babysitter and what is a good price?

well it depends on your experience and if you have a class for that. my cousin charges me $20 a day for 6 hours

Depends on where you live.  Unlicensed care providers in CA charge anywhere from 125-150 week, licensed closer to 200.  Now that I'm in NM, it's between 50-100 for unlicensed, 100-150 for licensed.  It also depends on full-time/part-time, what you provide, how flexible your hours are, etc.  You can do a little better if you take the cpr/babysitting course and get approved for CHINS or whatever passes for it in your area (it  helps reimburse you for the cost of food provided to your miniscule clients).

I babysit  monday-thursday from 7:00am until 5:30pm, I charge$110/week.  The child is 18 months old.
