  1. Its ok, your new to this, but do you best to avoid meat.  Keep yourself out a situation where you have to have meet.  A special functions call ahead and see if they have salads and if not bring your own.  I too and working on becoming a vegetarian and have gone over 5 months now without meat.

  2. I'm not sure what you mean?  You didn't know the hamburger was meat? Your friend is wrong.  Vegetarians never eat meat..it's a whole lifestyle.  You can call yourself a vegetarian if you start becoming one.  No flesh and no slaughter by products.

  3. You can't call yourself a vegetarian at the moment you ate the hamburger.

But if you stop for sure, then you can call yourself a vegetarian again.

    But it wasn't a mistake.

You ate it because that's all there was.

    That's a no-no.

So don't eat meat from now on and regain your vegetarian status immediately.

    Good luck.

  4. if you stop eating meat then sure.

  5. you shouldn't feel bad yes, you can still call yourself a vegetarian.

Your friend is wrong, by definition of vegetarian you can't eat meand and be a vegetarian.  But if your plan is to not eat meat in the future then your a vegetarian (past doesn't matter so much).

on a side note, make sure you still eating healthy.  No meat means much less protean, eat things like beans that are high in protean to compensate.

  6. Yes, you don't want to be a hypocrite do you?!!>?!?!?!>!>?!   >:D

Please do the world a favor and remove the frontal lobe of the cerebral cortex...Thankyou :D

    Let the thumbs down begin!

  7. If it was just a one-time slip up in a moment of weakness, you can still call yourself a vegetarian.  Take it as a lesson that you need to take responsibility for keeping yourself fed because no one else is going to do it for you.  If you're going to be somewhere where there won't be vegetarian food, eat beforehand, or bring something with you.  Something like a Clif Bar or a Luna Bar tucks easily into your purse and can keep you full until you can get a proper meal.

If your friend thinks "you can still be a vegetarian and eat meat," she's incredibly dense.  Vegetarians don't eat meat.  Everyone is entitled to a mistake, but someone who just decides that it's OK to eat meat once in awhile is not a vegetarian, they're just someone who doesn't eat much meat.  Vegetarianism is at least partly about intent.  You slipped up but if your *intent* is not to do it again, you're still a vegetarian.  If your *intent* is to eat meat whenever you don't have a better option, you're not.

  8. It sounds like you are in a cult, jeez eat the meat and be happy. Its the circle of life. Animals dont have rights, they are put here by God for us and other animals to eat. They shouldnt be mistreated, they should be well cared for and killed humanely, but I say eat em.

Then you can be what you are supposed to be.....a carnivore. Omnivore in reality but you get the point.

  9. What did you mistake it for?

You must do penance, of course. Ten strokes with a non-leather whip ought to do it. But from now on you will be a non-virgin veggie.

  10. yes you can still be a vegetarian, just dont let it happen again because ppl will think you are a hypocrite...

    how was it a mistake?

  11. it wasn't a mistake&&you can't be a vegetarian&&eat meat?!

  12. Your diet is your choice and your business. If you occasionally eat meat, you have that right. So don't worry about it. If you want to call yourself a vegetarian, just don't eat meat unless you have no other choice. If you eat meat regularly, it's hard to justify the label.

  13. Funny mistake to make!!!

If you are in that situation again, you could eat just the bun or bread from the hamburger/hot dogs.

Fill the bun or bread with chips and have yourself a chip buttie (chip sandwich for all the non-English people here)

Most chips these days are fried in vegetable oil or baked in the oven.

~~ "you can still be a vegetarian and eat meat" ~~ either you are a troll or your friend is a ignoramus. What a silly statement to make.

    .

  14. I am a vegetarian....no, you cannot eat meat and still be a vegetarian.  If you are somewhere and they have no vegetarian food...then, you just don't get to eat.  That simple.

  15. It sounds as if you feel that you broke the law? You broke no law. You made the choice to be a vegetarian, didn't you? Well, it isn't a sin to eat anything you want, but you will feel better about yourself because of this experience.

It is hard to be a total vegetarian as we live in a non-vegetarian world. I was a vegetarian for 20 years. I found that the best way to eat the foods that were vegetarian was to make them myself. I would pack a meal with me wherever I went. Nowadays, there are many more prepared vegetarian items.

Keep yourself focused on being a vegetarian and don't worry about what you did.

Just try to not do it again and you will feel better.
