  1. nurses are in demand in Australia, now it depends on your experience which should be more than 1 year, to be safe it should be 2. You need to choose which state in Australia you want to practice. They all have different qualifications. Now after you have experience qualification, you must consider your current citizenship. There are nursing states that require you to take the International English language exam or the IELTS. They have target grades for that. Anyway if you are a citizen of a English speaking country this may be waived. You can now apply to your desired State. Some countries are ask to take a Bridging Course, but for other developed countries like US, UK, Ireland, Canada and Singapore, again this may be waived and your registration may be hassle free. After you have been registered, you need to find an employer or an agency that may support you for immigration visa. Good luck on this.

  2. Immigration to Australia is currently virtually impossible unless you have skills and experience in a listed occupation in which Australia has a shortage of workers.

The good news for you is that Australia has a very real shortage of nurses throughout the country and you won't have any trouble finding suitable employment. Your husband's field is less in demand, but if you can get a visa, he will be able to obtain a visa as your spouse. His occupation is not in demand to the extent that nursing is, but he should still be able to find work if he is flexible.

You must apply for and get a sponsored or independent Skilled Worker visa, pass a points test and meet our health and character requirements.

Go to http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/medical-p... for specific information regarding Skilled Worker visas for nurses. All other information you may need is accessible from there, including the points test, health requirements etc.

  3. The simple answer is, "They only take MasterCard."

OK!  Contact your local Australian embassy or consulate.  They should be listed in your local telephone directory.  Their consular services will be able to advise you on requirements, processes, and procedures.
