  1. if you like to pass, you could be a libero...they dont get to hit, but it is a good position to play! god luck

  2. well you can always do a 6-2... a 6-2 is when the setter sets from back row. for example, say that you were in position 1. youd be setter. and the other setter which is opposite you is in front row, is one of your hitters. ask if you can do a 6-2 rotation.

  3. Go with your coach's decision. It is a team-volleyball and you do what is more important to the team.

If your team plays 6-2 you will definitely have a chance to hit. If you play 5-1 and you are the setter, you will be the MVP of all time (but less chance of hitting).

If you are like me a "life-time volleyball player", you should start developing yourself as a setter.

  4. if you are good at jumping be a hitter, but always go were your coach wants you to or you won't play to the best of your abillities and you might not get enough playing time.  Plus setter is the most important position on the team!!!!!!

  5. Well, if you are a good passer too, your coach can put you in the back row, and maybe your setter can set and you can spike from back row. Also, during practice, prove to your coach that your a good spiker. Good luck!

  6. It depends on how short you are. I would say if you're under 5 5, it's a slim chance you will be a hitter. Im just being honest. You dont even have to be a setter, you can be a ds (defense specialist) and you're allowed to hit from behind the 10ft line. You cant go over the line and hit though. They're usually down balls but wtvr it's still kinda spiking right?

  7. Basically you should do what's best for the team. If you prefer to spike instead of setting, tell your coach and let him/her test you on your spiking abilities. Many people will doubt you just because of height and rather not judge you by your skills. You need to show them that you got what it takes.

  8. i play only back row and i get to hit back row to and i am the shortest of them all and i love to hit also!!!!

  9. practice your aproach and jumping every day so you can make up for your height with your jump well good luck with volleyball and im sure f it came down to it you would be a great setter! The setter does get to hit sometimes and it is fun to tip it over!GOOD LUCK!

  10. Just because of your height, doesn't mean you will have to be a setter. I am the shortest one on my team but i can seriously jump higher than any one else on the team! Being the setter is a VERY important job. A setter of a volleyball team is like the quarterback of the football team. They have to know everything that is going on. You must have good strenght and endurance.  But if you really would rather not be a setter, then talk to your coach about it, maybe if you are a really good  hitter, the coach will let you do it. Hope i helped you out a little! good luck.
