She is very young yet but she is showing. I don't know if she can go without one for some time or if a girl needs one as soon as she starts to show. I never had sisters or anything so I don't know.

  1. take her to the store and find a women who works there to help her //

  2. How old is she? Do you have a female friend or relative who could speak to her about it?

  3. It never hurts to get a training bra. The purpose of these is for when you are not quite old enough or big enough to wear an A cup but you are still being modest and lady like by not showing details. Plus it gets her in the habit of wearing one and learning what it is to be a lady. I would by maybe one or two the most right now since she is still young but it is always good to have one because she is a growing girl. If you are not comfortable with taking her to get one you can have an older lady friend such as a coworker she knows a cousin of hers or such to go with her.

  4. I think you would be better off getting tank tops with training bras in them. They are better for girls who are starting to show.

  5. At the risk of being graphic, if you can see the color or shape of her nipples through her shirts, she needs to be wearing something underneath. How young is very young? It may be difficult for a 7 or 8 year old to manage a bra, so if her breast buds are not very large, you might be better off making her wearing t-shirts or camisole tops under her shirts. If she is older, then she needs training bras. You can take her to the store and have her try on different sizes in the changing room while you wait outside. Make sure she gets at least 3.

While you could have a friend or family member handle this, I implore you to take care of it yourself. This is only the first in a long line of issues you will face raising a daughter, and you both need to be comfortable with you in charge of her.

  6. When I was young, i got my first bra when i noticed my b***s would hurt after rubbing on my shirt all day, but practally, it could be a bit sooner. You dont want young girls to have developing b*****s that are very notacible, as that can attract unwanted attention from cruel kids.

  7. My girls got them around age 9 .  They started out with the ones that look like a tank top.  Then they moved on to the others.  Take her to walmart and in the section where the underwear are, they have them there.  ask her to look at a few and go in and try them on.   Tell her to make sure they are not too tight on her.   SHe should be able to tell if it fits ok. when she gets a little bigger then you can take her a department store where someone can fit her for one.

  8. I think she should at least wear a sports bra or a training bra.  You can give her money and she could buy them with some friends because it might be awkward if you take her.  Does she have a grandma or female friend that can talk to her?  I wouldn't talk to her too much about it because she might be embarassed.  I don't know how old she is but she will probably be getting her period soon too.

I'm sure you're doing a great job as a single dad.

    Hope this helps!!

  9. Yes even if its just for modesty unfortunately there a lot of sickos out there!

  10. She needs to go now.  If you don't have a female friend who can help her with this, then ducky, you seem to be the only one in the pond right now.

Sports bras or "training" bras may be your best bet.

Lately, they are selling camisoles (like underwear t-shirts for boys) and they have soft bras built into them.  She wears a cammi, and then puts a shirt on top.  This is very popular with girls now.  They like their cammi to show at the neck and again at the bottom of the shirt they're wearing.

Get her a dozen cammis and let her choose the color.  Cotton, please, not silk, and not s**y.

    Best wishes!

  11. How does she feel about it?  Have you had a few "learning moment" opportunities to talk about it?

I'm going through the same thing with my daughter.  She's just begun to develop.  We've talked about it, and while at Target recently she actually showed some interest in the different types.  When she asked about the padded ones, I told her she didn't need them, but that's where it's been left.  We'll wait a bit longer.

If you have a sister, mother or a female friend who's judgement you trust, talk with them about it.

    Good luck.

  12. If you think she is showing, I would get her a training bra.  It is one that doesn't really have any padding or anything, but it still has straps.  I think my daughter starting wearing one around 4th or 5th grade.  She didn't really need one, but her friends were wearing them, and it makes them feel better.  Any department store should have them...........or maybe you could get a female relative or close friend to take her.  Just ask her and see what she would prefer.

  13. Yes, if her chest is starting to show even a little bump of breast, it's time for a training bra.

Most department stores have little training bras for young girls.

    Good luck! ;-)

  14. when she reaches the age of 10-12, she'll need to start wearing a bra. i would recommend a sports bra for first starters. theyre comfortable and cheap. you can get it at any thrift stores like tjmax or ross for only $2-$4. i wish u the best of luck!

  15. If she's 12 years or older i'd recommend getting her a training bra AT LEAST.

Or take her to a department store and have her measured to find out if she needs one or not.

  16. Regardless of age, if she is starting to show, its time for some sort of training bra or under shirts.
