I don't have anyone to travel with and I am just looking to relax in the beautiful scenery and maybe do some day excursions. What do you think?

  1. Dont worry, Cabo San Lucas is a safe place, just reserve before travel.

  2. I think you will be robbed and brutally raped!

  3. I usually travel alone, however places where they speak little english don't sound like it... Where going the third week in may.

  4. Hola.  I don't think it would be a problem.   I live here in Cabo alone and I'm a single white girl.

I walk by myself, and I often drive and go places by myself.  I've never had a problem...other than a few catcalls.  Your resort will take really great care of you and you should feel safe walking around shopping or sightseeing.  If you go on tours, you will be with other people.  I would go for it.

I think the problems arise when tourists come here and flash their money/jewelry around, act drunken and disorderly in public, or befriend a local that you don't know what their real intentions are.  I add extra caution to my routine by not driving at night, not going anywhere by myself at night, and always being aware of my surroundings.

Cabo is a resort town, and yes its true crime can happen.  We have alot of transient people from the mainland who come here trying to make more money.  Most are so poor it is so bad....but they would never do anything...they have respect and honor for themselves.  There is only a small percentage that are criminals and when they see a rich drunk tourist stumbling around its hard not to resist.

Go and enjoy yourself.  You will love Cabo.  Its beautiful here!

  5. Personally I don't want you to bank your decision on a bunch of Yahoo answers, but Cabo is the safest place I have ever been to in Mexico - that being said I have only been to Cancun, Nogales, Cabo, & Los Algodones.  So, my experience isn't ideal.  But I know I would feel safer if you were with someone - even a travel group you would be safer.  Travel agents have groups and sometimes they are at a discount rate, I would check that out and see - you never know, you could meet people and make friends too!  Also, do multiple online searches - learn the place before you get there, that way when you do arrive, you are already familiar with the layout, where things are and you will have a wider comfort zone.
