  1. Each agency has their own rules. Most if not all do prefer males to adopt the same s*x. You will have to have a home study, be fingerprinted, etc. Good luck and Happy New Year.

  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Verri...

  3. it depends of where you want to adopt from, domestically, internationally, what country, etc. some have guidelines against, but, others simply put single adults at the end of the line, for example,in the Ukraine, first children can be adopted domestically, then it's to international couples, then international singles. good luck, just type in, "how to adopt from..." in a search bar and start looking! good luck!

  4. It can be difficult for a single person, male or female, to adopt a baby. This is because babies are so popular and married couples are generally the first choice for homes. If you're willing to adopt an older child, or if you're willing to adopt a non-white baby it might be easier for you. If you're interested in looking to adopt from another country, you should know that some countries don't allow single parent adoptions. That's something you'll have to look into. Good luck.

  5. Good for you.

Be prepared for the bigotry that's prevalent.   A lot of ppl feel men should not be single parents.

Some courts don't like to give men full custody even when they're the much better parent.

It's a fact of life and very sad.   Just be prepared, and try to ignore and move past the ppl who have that problem.

On the other hand, try not to be too touchy about questions dealing with your personal life.   Sexual abuse is a male problem and you will have to answer questions that a single woman would not have to.

  6. A baby?? - Very unlikely to happen

I have a friend, a man about your age in Austin Texas, who has adopted two older [I think ages 7 and 10] boys from Colombia in two separate adoption proceedings.

Go to KidSave.org and see about their summer visitation program. You have the opportunity to save a kid from a miserable life.

    Good luck

  7. You can definitely adopt a very young child through CPS/foster care as young as 1 yr.

Or you can foster a baby  (as young as a day old) but you might or might not be able to adopt the child (birth parents would have 1 yr to try to regain custody.)

I think, as a single male, adopting through the CPS/foster care system is the best way to go.
