  1. The theme parks are great but do cost a fortune at least $66 for each theme park for adults that is.I have just been at Sea World,Dreamworld and White Water World recently.I have fund that cheap accommodation usally means that you will need to share with a couple of uninvited creepy crawlies and often the cleaness is also bellow standart.Have you thought about cabins in caravan parks. The BIG4 caravan parks are usually OK and clean.

    Treasure Island Holiday Park:

    The team at Treasure Island

Location: Located 7km north of Surfers Paradise on Gold Coast Highway, central to all theme parks and close to Southport Broadwater. Take Exit 62 towards Labrador 6km.

Accomm: 2brm & 3brm deluxe villas, poolside villas, family cottage, garden villa – 1 and 2brm, holiday units 1brm, park cabins – with ensuite, cabins, pwd sites, all linen supplied in accom. 18 room Motor Inn executive suites opened Nov 2002.

Nearby Attractions: Seaworld, Movieworld, Dreamworld, Wet ’n‘ Wild, Harbourtown Shopping Centre, Southport Broadwater

  2. We also stayed at the Treasure Island Holiday Park.

It suited us for a base to stay and go out and do things, but it also had the pool etc, and my 12 yr old would like to go back, so it can't be too bad.

It was clean, convenient and well priced.

From luxury 3 bedroom townhouses to camping sites.

I just checked the rates again, and I feel they are higher than I remember.

The Sea World Resort’s $99 per night offer seems pretty good when compared.

  3. The accomodation at sea world is very expensive, but if you go at off-peak time, you should be able to find a tourist caravan park, or cheap hotel accomodation on the coast.

Or, if you can't go at off-peak time, you could try looking for something in Brisbane, and catch the train down to the coast and get a bus from there (but that could be a little inconvenient)

  4. Try wotif.com for last minute accommodation specials: can display by price or on map to get the most suitable locations.

Staying at Southport/Broadbeach is your best option.

Dreamworld and Seaworld are the best of the theme parks.

  5. when we went in 2003... we stayed right in the middle of the gold coast ....

was affordable BUT yucky ( had cockroaches and I found a short and curly that WASN'T mine at the bottom of my bed)

check out the accommodation at sea-world .. That is what I would do If ever i was to go back .. ( but I was so over the theme park thing ... doubt I will ever go back)
