I'm looking for a plan that doesn't have a 12 month contract. I've looked everywhere and all I see are 12 month contracts.

  1. iam on unwired and not on a contract.

if you are a student you can buy a cheaper discounted unwired modem at the co-op shop near universities. thats where i bought mine. the modems are normally $160-$180 but at the co-op shop if your a student you can buy it for $80 and you can have plans that start from $17 a month for a simple dial up 56k speed plan to really fast 128mbs plan...

if you want to buy an even cheaper unwired modem and dont mind waiting a few days for delivery.. there are alot of the unwired modems in ebay that sell for $20.i suggest getting a 2nd hand one from ebay for $20 as you dont need a new one. i have been using the same modem and been on unwired for 3 yrs. so yeah the modems work just as good as a new one and last for a long time. you can chose to go on a non contract plan on unwired. iam not on a contract plan on unwired and you basically can go online and connect straight away as soon as you have your modem.

the only reason why unwired have a contract plan is for people who dont want to spend $160-$180 for a modem upfront so they put them on a contract. buttt if u buy the modem yourself or buy the modem on ebay for roughly around $20. you dont need the contract

By the way. iam not on the prepaid unwired offer. iam on a post-pay one where i give them my bank account details and they take my plan $$ every month off my bank account and i can stop and disconnect using unwired whenever i want. this way is a little bit cheaper than prepaid packs from the store as they are more sure you would b using it every month until you disconnect it where prepaid packs are abit more expensive. mayb only $5 more expensive.

  2. Go to http://broadbandguide.com.au to compare - you can certainly get plenty of plans without long-term contracts but they're much more expensive.

Or, look around uni and see if anyone's leaving. One of my friends just signed up with Dodo, and she said it won't cost her anything to transfer her plan if she leaves the country sooner than her contract expires, so she'll be looking for someone keen for a short-term contract (cheaper) when she does.

  3. Unwired offers prepaid wireless internet access in Sydney. $169 to get started, plus a $6 delivery fee.
