I'm a teacher and have an available summer. Want to go with my kids (6 & 8) to Mexico. Is this a good time?

I've never even been to Mexico and I'm worried about it being too hot or otherwise bad timing that would make a first trip a not too great experience. Would like to go around the 3rd or 4th week in June. Do a lot of people do this?

The summer is the best time to visit Mexico if you're planning to go to Central Mexico like lets say Mexico City. However, if you want to go to the beach, it's not such a good idea to go in June since it is hurricane season. It's not very fun to go to the beach when it's all cloudy or even raining. But, I'd highly recommend Central Mexico in the summer. You can go to the pyramids in Mexico City, to Cuernavaca/Morelos to all the water parks, Tepoztlan to see a bit of the ancient Mexico, etc. There are many things to do in the summer. The weather in and around Mexico City in the summer is fairly mild. It's not boiling hot but it's not freezing cold either. It is really nice in the summer. Hope this helps :)

That is a great time to go. My girlfriend  (who is a teacher also) and i go every year at that time. We like the playa del carmen area as there is a lot to see and do in that area. The resorts always have activities for kids and adults. We have never found the weather to hot to swim in the beautiful ocean or play in the pools. There is always kids so yours should make new friends along with yourself.We are planning our trip in june at this time. You and your kids will have a great time.

Yes it is a good time, but what city are you going to in Mexico?

Ive been to Cancun, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta. Cancun was the best, the ocean water in Cancun is a beautiful light blue color. But wherever you go in Mexico in June, it will be extremely hot! But, overall, it should be a great experience.
