I'm a teen girl and I have this big situation for my start at school Can Someone Help me Please?

well im goin to the 7th grade and my mom works until 5pm and i get out of school at 3pm except for wednesdays when i get put at 1pm. well shes planning to put me in an after school program but we dont have them on wednesdays and she doesnt think she'll be able to get out of work and pick me up. and my mom thinks its still not safe to let me walk home only if i walk with some other friends to their house or something but i feel kinda shy having to ask my friends oh can i walk home with you every wednesday and stay with you until 5pm because my mom has to work and she cant pick me up. i have already done this for like two years with my other friend (which got on my nerves) but since shes moving schools now her dad wont pick me up anymore and im kinda glad becuz i was getting tired of doing that. will someone please help me?? school starts on tuesday and im not sure if my program will start very soon and idk what to do!!

I feel bad for you.  I think it is wrong for your mom to expect you to figure out what to do about your after school care.  Unfortunately, that's the way it is.  Talk to your friends, maybe you can go to a different friend's house every week.  Or maybe the whole group of you can hang out and study.  If you are really that shy, why not have your mom call their mom and make the arrangements for you?

I don't see the problem in asking one of your friends.  My son is entering grade 7 as well and one of his friends comes over when his mother won't be home.  They don't live in a high crime area, but it's boring for him to sit at home alone and I don't mind at all when he comes over for a few hours, he's there to hang out with my son, it's not like I'm babysitting him, even though I kind of am.  

I wouldn't feel comfortable with my son walking in his own to empty house either.  No one around to make sure he got here ok...his walk to school is by the highway and no sidewalks (which makes NO sense).  Besides, growing up a Latchkey kid myself, it wasn't any fun.

I'm sure you have more than 1 friend. Why do you have to only rely on 1 friend. Or maybe if your into drama or track, some kind of after school activity just to busy your self or even if you volunteer at a hospital. I used to take a bus to the hospital were I was a candy striper(volunteer) 2 days a week when I was in 7 grade.

Ask your best friend, they'll prob do it. Also if you have a classmate that lives by you, ask them to walk with you.
